Weather in Istria in August: Temperature, Sea & Tips
August is the warmest month for beach lovers: the sea averages around 26 °C, and daytime highs are usually around 29 to 30 °C. Around ten hours of sunshine a day is the norm, and towards the end of the month heavy thunderstorms can bring some relief. It is the busiest month of the year – in Pula, Medulin and at Cape Kamenjak, beaches and car parks are full from late morning, and it is worth booking restaurants. According to kroati.de, Fažana celebrates its sardine festival in August, and the Pula Arena hosts concerts and, until early September, "Spectacvla Antiqva". Plan excursions as early in the day as possible and treat yourself to a midday break in the garden or on the terrace.
